Cooper fait la connaissance d'Audrey Horne au petit déjeuner.
Cooper découvre que Laura aidait beaucoup de monde :
Johnny Horne, un attardé mental, Norma Jennings, qui organise un programme de distribution de repas à domicile pour les invalides et Josie Packard, à qui elle donnait des cours d'anglais.
James Hurley avoue à la police qu'il voyait Laura en secret mais que le soir de la mort de Laura, ils venaient de rompre.
Ed Hurley affirme qu'il a été drogué au Relais : le barman était Jacques Renault.
James Hurley, Bobby Briggs et Mike Nelson sont libérés.
Lorsque Donna lui rend visite, Sarah Palmer a une nouvelle vision : elle voit le visage de Laura se superposer à celui de Donna et un homme au visage inquiétant et aux longs cheveux gris.
Shelly découvre une chemise pleine de sang dans les affaires de son mari et la met de coté afin de l'utiliser contre lui.
Hawk interroge les parents de Ronette Pulaski, et repère un manchot qui semble chercher quelque chose ou quelqu'un, dans le service des soins intensifs.
Lorsqu'il rentre chez lui, Léo ne retrouve pas sa chemise et frappe sa femme.
James Hurley dine chez les Hayward.
Chez lui, le docteur Jacoby écoute une cassette enregistrée par Laura le soir de sa mort...

Marilyn Monroe et les Kennedys : Une obsession commune à l'Agent Cooper, David Lynch et Mark Frost. Ce dernier a même écrit un scénario sur les derniers mois de Marilyn, Goddess, qui aurait dû être réalisé par Lynch. Le projet n'a pas abouti.
Russ Tamblyn (Docteur Jacoby) et Richard Beymer (Ben Horne) ont tous les deux joués dans West Side Story, de Robert Wise (1960). Ils tenaient respectivement les rôles de Riff et Tony.
Will Frost (Docteur Hayward) est le père de Mark Frost.

"Diane, 6:18 AM, Room 315, Great Northern Hotel. Slept pretty well. Non smoking room, there's no tobacco smell; that's a nice consideration for the business traveler.
